Program Description

The NJSCA in partnership with Arts Horizons and Young Audiences NJ offers 1:1 matching grants for artist residencies through the Artists-in-Education (AIE) Residency Program which places professional teaching artists in New Jersey classrooms for long term residencies (20 days minimum). Schools submit an application in mid-March 2008 for residencies during the school year 2008-09.

Any New Jersey K-12 public, private or parochial school is eligible to apply. Guidelines and applications are available at www.njartscouncil.org or by calling 1-877-NJ-ART-ED. Technical assistance workshops for writing the grants are also available.


Educational Standards Addressed

Residency programs cover a variety of curruiculum areas and align with standards, 1.1 Aesthetics, 1.2 Creation and Performance, 1.3 Elements and Principles of the Arts, 1.4 Critique and 1.5 World Cultures, History and Society.
