About the theatre

Cape May Stage is a professional Equity theatre company, featuring traditional, contemporary and new works in an intimate setting. Leading artists from around the country provide world-class theatre and a variety of educational and cultural outreach programs to residents and visitors of Cape May from May through December.

Founded in 1987, Cape May Stage allows audiences to feel truly a part of the theatrical experience. Located in the heart of the downtown Historic District of Cape May, NJ, Cape May Stage continues to deliver theatre that places emphasis on acting, directing and playwriting excellence in an intimate 110-seat Renaissance Revival (c. 1880) theatre - the Robert Shackleton Playhouse of the Cape May Stage.
